Brown Noddy, Isla Baltra 12/9/2005

Masked Water-Tyrant (Fluvicola nengeta atripennis)

Yanacocha Reserve, Ecuador. December 2005

Woodpecker, Yanacocha Reserve, 2005

I can't remember this one's name. I'll have to look through my notes...

Olive-backed Woodpecker (Dinopium rafflesii)

Yanacocha Reserve, Ecuador 2005
Their heads look like they're carved out of wood. Very weird.

Rufous Motmot (Baryphthengus martii)

This bird was so still we nearly missed it. It was sitting just above the path we were walking along. We all took dozens of shots without ever disturbing the bird at all.
One of the most interesting things about the Motmots is that they pluck the barbels out of part of their tail feathers to make a distinctive "racquet" shape.
